  • Former CMSAF celebrates Moody’s leaders, inspires enlisted corps

    Only one percent of Airmen ever become a Chief Master Sergeant. Of that one percent, only one serves as the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (CMSAF). Only 18 chiefs have ever held that title, and one of them came to Moody for a Chief Recognition Ceremony, Jan 11, 2018. Having served for 29 years in the Air Force, taking him to the rank of chief and beyond, 14th CMSAF Gerald Murray wanted to impart wisdom and celebrate Moody’s newest chiefs.
  • Moody gets into the holiday spirit

    Team Moody got into the holiday spirit with several festive events around base, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The different events consisted of the Tree Lighting Ceremony, a children's Christmas party and the Airmen Cookie Drive.
  • AGOW Airmen conduct static-line jumps

    Airmen from the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing conducted static-line jump training, Nov. 21, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The overall objective of the training was to increase jumpers’ skills, knowledge and proficiency in regards to airborne operations. During a static-line jump, the jumper is attached to the aircraft via the ‘static-line’, which automatically deploys the jumpers’ parachute after they’ve exited the aircraft.

  • Moody welcomes home rescue warriors

    Team Moody and loved ones welcomed back personnel from the 41st and 71st Rescue Squadrons (RQS) as they returned home from a deployment, Oct. 9, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The rescue squadrons provided combat search and rescue capabilities while members from the 723d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) performed maintenance operations in a forward location.
  • Moody ‘rucks the distance’ during POW/MIA Recognition Day

    The 347th Operations Support Squadron (OSS) hosted the POW/MIA Recognition Day ruck march, Sept. 21, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. For the first time at Moody, the 347th OSS hosted a ruck march to pay tribute to those who’ve been captured or missing in the line of duty by carrying a POW/MIA flag for 24 hours.
  • Moody AF Ball celebrates heritage, history

    Team Moody celebrated the Air Force’s 71st birthday during the annual Air Force Ball, Sept. 15, 2018, in Valdosta, Ga. The ball recognized the service’s inception on Sept. 18, 1947, when President Truman signed the National Security Act of 1947, which established the USAF as a separate military service.
  • Moody makes some noise during Diversity Day

    Team Moody hosted the 23d Wing Diversity Day, Sept. 14, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Diversity Day honored the cultures of all groups and organizations observed by the Department of Defense using forms of expression such as poems and native dances. The theme of this year was ’Many Cultures, One Voice: Stronger Through Inclusion And Equality’.
  • Lieutenant colonel sets sights on marksman victory

    In the midst of countless rounds exploding across the firing range, his sights are set on one thing, the target. To the left and right of him are some of the nation’s best marksmen, but he’s ready. Prepared, he exhales and fires shot after shot hoping to leave his mark on what many consider to be “America’s World Series of the Shooting Sports.” When the gunfire ceased and the smoke cleared, Lt. Col. Robert Davis, 93d Air Ground Operations Wing (AGOW) director of complaints resolution, won first place in the metric prone grand aggregate category during the 2018 National Rifle Association (NRA) National Smallbore Rifle Championships, in Bristol, Ind.
  • Airmen ‘bring the heat’ with hot pits, gear up faster turnaround

    Airmen from the 23d Logistic Readiness Squadron (LRS) and 476th Maintenance Squadron performed a hot pit refuel, Aug. 14, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Members of the 23d LRS preposition fueling trucks to allow aircraft to refuel without needing to shut down. This style of refueling is used to eliminate the need for additional maintenance procedures and to extend pilots’ training time per flight which improves operations tempo.
