  • Moody Club ‘roars’ at Tiger Con

    The Moody Comics & Anime Club hosted its first Tiger Con, April 14-15, 2018, in Valdosta, Ga. Tiger Con was a convention, open to Moody residents and the local community, geared toward giving pop culture enthusiasts a chance to dress and role play as their favorite movie, TV show or comic characters.
  • Airmen gain sobering experience during Alcohol Awareness Month

    Team Moody Airmen were briefed on responsible drinking during Moody’s Alcohol Awareness Day, March 9, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Moody’s Alcohol Drug and Prevention Treatment program hosted the event as part of Alcohol Awareness Month, with this year’s theme being “Changing Attitudes: It’s not a ‘rite of passage.’” The focus of the event was geared towards educating Airmen on how to drink responsibly and the effects of drunken driving.
  • Public Health makes most of MRE inspection

    Airmen from the 23d Aerospace Medicine Squadron Public Health Flight examined meals, ready to eat (MREs) during an MRE open-package inspection, April 6, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Airmen from Public Health examine the MREs for defects and overall quality and determine whether they’ll be utilized here, at other bases or to condemn the batch. Public Health monitors more than 8,400 MREs yearly to ensure they are safe and fit for consumption, so as to maintain a healthy fighting force.
  • Rescue assets endure CBRN exercise

    During a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear exercise, Airmen from the 41st Rescue Squadron and 41st Helicopter Maintenance Unit were geared up in mission-oriented protective posture (MOPP) gear to simulate potential conditions they could face while deployed in austere environments, March 28, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. While in MOPP gear, Airmen have to deal with claustrophobic conditions, impaired communication and battle the constant threat of heat exhaustion, while completing the mission.
  • Team Moody empowers women in 5k

    Team Moody particpated in the Empower Women 5k, March 30, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The event concluded National Women’s History Month, celebrating and honoring the social, economical, cultural and political achievements of both military and civilian women both military and civilian.
  • Youth of the Year finalists inspire crowd

    Youth of the Year finalists presented their speeches during the Youth of the Year Finalist Celebration, March 23, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The Youth Center hosted the event to give parents and community members a chance to see the competitors give their speeches they presented during the Georgia State Youth of the Year Competition. This was the first time two competitors from southeast region made it to the semifinals at the same time.
  • Cub Con energizes Moody for big event

    The Moody Comics & Anime Club held Cub Con, a multi-genre entertainment convention, March 17, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The convention included a costume contest, zombie demonstration, live painting seminar, and kids face painting. It was held to spread awareness of the library’s new weekend hours as well as get people excited for Tiger Con, scheduled for April 14-15. Cub Con and Tiger Con are an effort by the Comics & Anime Club to bolster a community of pop culture enthusiasts within the Moody and Valdosta area.
  • Comedian brings life to puppets

    A ventriloquist performed a comedy show, March 15, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Air Force Entertainment provided this opportunity for Airmen to attend as a family to enjoy some time away from the mission. Ryan Bomgardner is a full-time ventriloquist and comedian who performs over 140 shows annually throughout North America.
  • Airman soars to new heights with Air Force Honor Guard

    Airmen are called to serve in a range of ways. In one facet of service, the United States Air Force Honor Guard ensures a legacy of Airmen who protect the standards, perfect the image and preserve the heritage at the highest echelon of professionalism. On the other side of the spectrum- Battlefield Airmen are always ready to deploy while maintaining combat and specialty training standards matched only by their profound sense of discipline and loyalty.
  • Airmen ruck during CAF Day, bolster resiliency

    The 347th Operations Support Squadron participated in a ruck march during a Comprehensive Airman Fitness Day. During CAF Day, the 347th OSS focused on the physical domain, bolstering resiliency through team building activities.
