The country code to reach the United States is required for each number and dependent on the caller's location. Individuals calling from OCONUS, Canada, Medico, or off an installation will be responsible for long-distance international charges from their respective carriers, even if dialing a toll-free number.

The 988 Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers. The 988 Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. If callers are unable to reach the crisis support through phone dialing, the chat service is available online in all locations with an internet connection.

TRICARE (https://www.tricare.mil or for OCONUS - https://www.tricare-overseas.com) can also connect DoD beneficiaries of the Military Health System to mental health and counseling services. Additionally, if you are DoD civilian employee, DoD Employee Assistant Program provides resources, information, and confidential help 24/7 at 866-850-9046 (TTY: 711).
