Military Justice Spotlight: Article 15s for April

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. --  The following information is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in April. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case.

- An airman from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron failed to go to their appointed place of duty on three separate occasions. The airman received a reduction to airman basic and 45 days extra duty. The reduction was suspended.

- An airman first class from the 723rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron committed larceny. The airman first class received a reduction to airman basic, restriction to Moody AFB for 60 days and a reprimand.

- An airman first class from the 23rd Fighter Group damaged military property. The airman first class received a reduction to airman, eight days extra duty and a reprimand. The reduction was suspended.

- A captain from the 74th Fighter Squadron failed to go to their appointed place of duty and as a result of wrongful previous overindulgence in intoxicating liquor or drugs, was incapacitated for the proper performance of their duties. The captain received forfeiture of $1,000 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.

- A staff sergeant from the 23rd Medical Support Squadron wrote a false official statement. The staff sergeant received a reduction to senior airman and a reprimand. The reduction was suspended.

- An airman first class from the 23rd Operations Support Squadron failed to go to their appointed place of duty, was derelict in the performance of their duties and made a false official statement. The airman first class received a reduction to airman basic, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand.

- An airman first class from the 23rd Security Forces Squadron was found sleeping on their post. The airman first class received a reduction to airman and a reprimand.

- A senior airman from the 23rd Security Forces Squadron wrongfully used marijuana. The senior airman received a reduction to airman and a reprimand.

- An airman first class from the 822nd Security Forces Squadron failed to go to their appointed place of duty. The airman first class received a reduction to airman and a reprimand. The reduction was suspended.
