Children's school and sports physicals
What: Sports Physical appointments
When: Available on July 31 and Aug. 2, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pediatric Clinic, Family Health Clinic and Flight Medicine. The appointment times are exclusively for patients enrolled to the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). If your child has had a sport physical or a well-child visit in the MTF since October 2011, your Primary Care Provider will transcribe a sports physical form for him/her. Simply drop off the form at the front desk of the clinic your child is enrolled to and it will be ready for pick-up on the third business day of receipt.

If your child requires an Ear, Eye and Dental (EED) Form to enroll in
Georgia Schools for the first time, this form can be completed during your sports physical appointment. However, if your child only needs an EED form completed, each clinic has walk-in hours from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Monday and Friday or you can contact our appointment line at 257-2778 to schedule an appointment.

Cranial Helmets
It's heartbreaking for new parents to learn their baby has plagiocephly, abnormal shape of the head, or other conditions that cause a misshapen head. The condition is not only cosmetic, but it often leads to other medical issues later in life. What can cause additional concern is when parents learn that the treatment, a special cranial helmet, is not covered by insurance and the cost can be several thousand dollars. In late 2011, Air Force Aid Society CEO, Lt. Gen. John Hopper, made the decision that assistance for cranial helmets will be provided as a grant. When applying for this assistance, parents bring in the doctor's prescription for the cranial helmet and the disapproval notice from TRICARE.
