    Bishop Robert J. Coyle, Archdiocese of the Military Services, visited Moody Air Force Base's Chapel to host a Sacrament of Confirmation ceremony. Confirmation is the sacrament by which Catholics believe the Holy Spirit gives them the increased ability to practice their faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation.

  • Base Defense Airmen memorialize fallen veteran

    Heads hang and tears fall while bagpipes play at a memorial service where those who’ve fallen in valor were honored, to include one Airman whose loss hit heavy on many of Moody’s warrior’s hearts. The NYPD memorial service honored three detectives who had fallen in the line of duty, one of which was Tech. Sgt. Joseph Lemm, who in 2015, was one of six U.S. troops killed by a suicide bomber while conducting overseas missions with the 820th Base Defense Group in Afghanistan.
  • Airmen prep for Army Air Assault School

    The AAA readiness assessment is designed to prepare Airmen for the Army Air Assault school curriculum as well as its physical and mental stressors. During AAA, U.S. troops are taught an array of skills associated with rotary-winged aircraft. These skills widen the 820th Base Defense Group’s ability to swiftly deploy and defend.

  • Moody welcomes 822d BDS home

    The 822d Base Defense Squadron was greeted by leadership, family and friends as they returned from a deployment to Southwest Asia on Oct. 21. While deployed, the 822d was tasked as defenders of expeditionary locations and assets. After returning to Moody, these Airmen train to uphold combat and specialty training standards to ensure they’re capable of rapidly deploying at a moment’s notice if necessary.
