  • Annual Cookie Drive sweetens holidays for Airmen

    Team Moody spouses packaged cookies for dorm Airmen during the Annual Moody Airmen Cookie Drive, Dec. 4-5, here. Local organizations, Airmen and spouses donated more than 8,000 cookies to approximately 700 dorm residents to show appreciation for the Airmen during the holidays.
  • Moody brightens holidays at Tree Lighting Ceremony

    Team Moody held the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Dec. 1, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The annual event brings the base community together as a way to show thanks for their continuous sacrifice and celebrate the holiday season. The celebration included a parade, raffle give-a-ways, children’s activities and traditional lighting of the base Christmas tree by families of deployed Airmen.

    Houtz enlisted in the Air Force on Oct. 6, 1991. During his 27-year career, he has held numerous leadership roles while supporting Operations Provide Promise, Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve.
  • Moody kicks-off Angel Tree event

    The Airman & Family Readiness Center kicked off the annual Angel Tree event, a donation drive which raises gifts for children of Moody Airmen, Nov. 27, here. Each year, community members pull ornaments from the Christmas trees located at the Base Exchange and the Freedom 1 Fitness Center with a child’s description and their desired gift, and purchase the gift to be given anonymously.

    Team Moody came together for a Thanksgiving Day meal in the Georgia Pines Dining Facility, Nov. 23, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The meal was an opportunity for Airmen, retirees, dependents and leadership to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
  • Air Force Storyteller’s: Moody warriors triumph challenges

    Everyone has a story. But not everyone decides to tell theirs. Fortunately, five of Moody’s own chose to share their lives most defining moments as part of the Air Force’s Storyteller’s initiative. In a series of candidly open interviews, these individuals highlighted their trials and tribulations and how they transcend the uniform – not only to empower themselves, but for others in hopes to culturally reshape how we address some of the most pressing topics.
  • Pilot exemplifies Total Force Integration

    As part of a Total Force Integration initiative, an Air Force Reserve Citizen Airman attended attended the Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) to deploy with his former active-duty squadron. Captivated by the close-air support and combat-search and rescue missions of the A-10C Thunderbolt II, U.S. Air Force Reserve Maj. Matt Paetzhold, 76th Fighter Squadron A-10C Thunderbolt II instructor pilot, joined the ranks of those responsible for effectively integrating multiple weapons systems across the land, air, space and cyber domains.
  • Fashion meets science at 23d CES Recycling Fair

    Moody Air Force Base’s 23d Civil Engineer Squadron hosted a recycle fair and fashion show, Nov. 15, 2017. The 23d CES partnered with Moody's Youth Programs for America Recycles Day. The event consisted of a fashion show, where everything was made out of recycled materials. There was also a recycle science fair, where all the ideas had to come from recycled products. The event was designed to help foster more interest in recycling, to increase recycling on base and promote less solid waste to landfills.
  • Veterans, Airmen congregate during Safeside Reunion

    Vietnam and Desert Storm veterans came together to bond with the new generation of Safeside members. The three-day event consisted of a memorial service for fallen Safeside members, a current capabilities demonstration and a golf tournament.
  • Thanksgiving gets served up for Moody

    Moody Airmen enjoyed the Annual Airmen’s Thanksgiving luncheon, Nov. 14, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Moody Chiefs Group, with the support of various base organizations, held the luncheon because many Airmen are unable to return home for Thanksgiving.
