Article 15s
The following information is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case.

A staff sergeant from the 23d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron failed to follow a technical order. Additionally, he signed a false official statement. For these offenses, the staff sergeant received a reduction to the grade of senior airman, forfeiture of $321 pay per month for two months, and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron signed a false official record. For this offense, the senior airman received a reduction to the grade of airman first class, forfeiture of $1,164 pay per month for two months (with two months suspended) and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23d Component Maintenance Squadron was derelict in his duties by failing to keep up the cleanliness standard laid out in the policy for the dorm room. For this offense, the airman first class received a reduction to the grade of airman (with reduction to airman basic suspended) and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 723d AMXS was absent without leave and derelict in his duties by failing to follow a lawful order issued by his commander. For this offense, the airman first class received a reduction to the grade of Airman Basic and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23d Operations Support Squadron misused his Government Travel Card for his own personal use while he was on leave and failed to adhere to the rules of overnight guests in the dorm rooms. For these offenses, the airman first class received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman, restriction to Moody AFB for 30 days, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23d AMXS drove while under the influence of alcohol and also drank while under legal drinking age. For these offenses, the airman first class received a reduction to the grade of airman, 45 days extra duty (suspended with the condition to volunteer for 8 weekends) and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 822d Base Defense Squadron conspired with another airman to commit an offense under the UCMJ and stole the property of another. For these offenses, the senior airman received a reduction in grade to airman first class, suspended forfeiture of $300.00 pay per month for 2 months, suspended 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 23d AMXS wrongfully used marijuana. For this offense, the staff sergeant received a reduction to the grade of senior airman, suspended forfeiture of $396.00 pay per month for 2 months and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23d AMXS drank alcohol while under the legal drinking age. For this offense, the airman first class received a reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 723d AMXS was derelict in his duties by failing to assist and supervise the operations check on an aircraft. For this offense, the staff sergeant received a suspended reduction in rank to senior airman, forfeiture of $229.0 pay, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 822d BDS conspired with another to commit an offense under the UCMJ to present a false claim against the United States. For this offense, the staff sergeant received a suspended reduction in rank to senior airman, forfeiture of $950.00 pay per month for 2 months, (with $550.00 dollars suspended), 45 days extra duty and a reprimand.

Discharges
The following information is a summary of administrative discharges executed under AFI 36-3208, Administrative Separation of Airmen, in January. The discharges are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case.
Former service members forego the following benefits given the specific discharge service characterization:

- Under Other Than Honorable (UOTHC): GI Bill, Civil Service Employment Preference, Mileage, Payment for Accrued Leave

An airman first class from the 823d BDS was discharged for Misconduct: Minor Disciplinary Infractions. This airman first class failed to report to his appointed place of duty on multiple occasions, slept on duty, failed to pay his Government Travel Card (GTC), made unauthorized purchases with the GTC, and was disrespectful to a Senior Noncommissioned Officer. This airman first class was discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) service characterization.

An airman first class from the 23d Security Forces Squadron was discharged for Misconduct: Minor Disciplinary Infractions. This airman first class failed to report to his appointed place of duty multiple times, left 90 rounds of ammunition unattended in a room that was not secure, and deliberately lied to a Commissioned Officer and to a Noncommissioned Officer. This airman first class was discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) service characterization.

An airman first class from the 23d Maintenance Operations Flight was discharged for Misconduct: Drug Abuse. This airman first class wrongfully used marijuana. This airman first class was discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) service characterization.

An airman basic from the 723d AMXS was discharged for Misconduct: Minor Disciplinary Infractions. This airman basic absented himself from his place of duty without authority, failed to report to a mandatory appointment, and failed to report to duty at the prescribed time on multiple occasions. This airman basic was discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) service characterization.

A senior airman from the 23d Communications Squadron was discharged for Commission of a Serious Offense: Sexual Perversion and Commission of a Serious Offense: Other Serious Offenses. This senior airman sent text messages that were sexual in nature to a person he believed to be a fourteen year-old girl and attempted to meet a fourteen year-old girl for a sexual encounter. Additionally, this senior airman possessed multiple images and videos of child pornography on a cell phone. This senior airman was discharged with an Under Other Than Honorable Conditions service characterization.
