Military Justice Spotlight: July Article 15s

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA. --  The following information is a summary of non-judicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in July. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case.

An airman first class from the 23rd Fighter Group was absent without leave three different times. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 23rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron failed to go to appointed place of duty. The senior airman received a suspended reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $230, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

A major from the 3rd Weather Squadron committed adultery and made false official statements. The major received forfeitures of $3,524 pay per month for two months. That portion of the forfeitures in excess of $3,524 pay per month for one month was suspended and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron failed to go to their appointed place of duty and failed to obey a lawful order. The staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to senior airman and a reprimand.

A chief master sergeant from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was driving while drunk. The chief master sergeant received a reduction to senior master sergeant, suspended forfeiture of $1,500 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23rd AMXS was underage drinking. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, forfeiture of $85 pay and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23rd AMXS was underage drinking and driving while drunk. The airman first class received a reduction to airman, suspended reduction to airman basic and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 23rd EMS failed to obey a lawful order. The staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to senior airman, forfeiture of $230 pay, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand.
