BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Senior Airman Chris Moore, 64th Aircraft Maintenance Unit weapons specialist, safety wires a piece of a minigun here, March 24. A minigun is an aircraft machine gun consisting of a rotating cluster of six barrels using 7.62mm ammunition and is capable of variable rates of fire. The component feeds and de-links the rounds as they are fired from an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter. Airman Moore is deployed from Moody Air Force Base, Ga.
