Moody's education and training office, library and professional development programs recently merged in an effort to streamline services designed to assist with the development of Airmen.

The consolidated services will be collocated with the new library at the old Military Personnel Flight building.

"This new concept will make it effortless for Airmen to fulfill their needs without having to go to different locations on base," said Emanuella McCall, 23rd Force Support Squadron force development flight chief. "With the exception of the First Term Airman Professional Enhancement Center and airman leadership school, all testing, education and training will be accomplished in one building. This also includes formal training, previously located near the Military Personnel Flight."

"It's like one-stop shopping--a much more efficient system than before", said Darryl Coleman, 23rd FSS education and training services section chief. "There will still be the same education and training services available for Airmen to utilize."

Some of the education services available are commissioning program briefings, Montgomery GI Bill briefings, Community College of the Air Force degree counseling, reading and study skills development.

Airmen can also speak with representatives from different colleges including Valdosta State University, Georgia Military College, Valdosta Technical College, Webster University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Park University.

Additionally, testing done behind the Military Personnel Flight desk such as the Weighted Airman Promotion System, Air Force Officer Qualifying Test, Electronic Data Processing Test and Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery will be taken at the new location.

"We are the ones to call to schedule any type of testing," said Mr. Coleman. "In addition, we are responsible for enrolling Airmen in professional military education courses such as the NCO academy."

By combining all the services to be under one roof, our goal is to have more Airmen enrolling for classes and taking advantage of the opportunities we provide, he said.

The education and training building will contain six new classrooms in addition to the classrooms behind the base chapel.

"If students want a place to study, they can use the quiet room located in the library area before or after class," said Mrs. McCall. "Students will also have the opportunity to attend video teleconference classes."

We want to provide quality education and training programs to help Airmen take care of their educational as well as their professional military development, said Mrs. McCall.

"We have the resources they can use to reach their goals," she said. "All Airmen have to do is come and talk to us."
