Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website, send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication.
The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. For more information, contact the 23rd Wing Public Affairs office at 229-257-4146.

Family advocacy programs

An Active Parenting of Teens class is scheduled to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 3, 10, 17 and 24 at the Base Chapel. This is for parents of teens 13 to 18 years old. Topics covered will include discipline methods, clear communication skills, strategies for preventing risky behavior, bullying and depression.

A Great Expectations class is scheduled to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., May 10 in the Family Advocacy office. Expectant parents will learn about resources available on base and off base for assistance during the pregnancy and information on Tricare, nutrition and exercise.

A Prevention Anger Management class is scheduled to be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m., May 3, 10, 17 and 24. There is no documentation placed in the medical record for attending this class.

A Home Alone Workshop is scheduled to be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on April 25. Parents with children ages 7 and up are invited to attend the workshop to learn information on child safety and lack of supervision guidelines. There will be guest speakers and dinner will be provided. To

Motorcycle safety rider coaches wanted
The 23rd Wing Safety Office is looking for 12 motorcycle riders who are interested in becoming rider coach instructors. The office will be hosting a certification class from June 7 to 17. This certification is an opportunity to teach new riders the correct way to ride. If the member is interested in becoming a rider coach, contact the Safety Office or their unit safety representative for qualifications and an application. Applications are due to the safety office no later than May 6. Call 229-257-3784 for more information.

Protocol office looking for next NCO
The Moody protocol office will continue interviewing for the NCO position during the months of April and May. The office is looking for eager NCOs to volunteer to represent the 23rd Wing and Moody. The protocol office consists of one company grade officer and one NCO.
The interview process will consist of an interview with the protocol office, shadowing of events, event coordination, and an interview with the wing commander.
General prerequisites include:
· Member must be a staff sergeant or technical sergeant without a line number for master sergeant.
· Must have the recommendation and approval from the member's chain of command.
· Must be willing to work long hours and some weekends.
· Member must be able to be released for protocol training by May 1 and begin full time by June 1.
Duties and responsibilities vary in scope and depth:
· Planning events often several at a time
· Facilitate and direct events
· Advise the wing commander and other key players

Vehicle Operations hours change
Effective April .1 the 23rd Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle operations hours of operations have changed.
Vehicle Dispatch will be open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact the VCO/VCNCO in your unit or call 229-257-3461. More information can also be reached through email at 23lrs.vdispatch@moody.af.mil
Operators Records & Licensing hours have also changed. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. For more information contact Licensing at 229-257-4702 for any in processing or out processing questions.
Vehicle Operations is located in Bldg. 995.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name.
Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc.
Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact the Public Affairs office at 229-257-3345.

HAZMART services
The HAZMART office offers services such as waste minimization, hazardous waste curbside pick-up, compliance help, fluorescent light bulb disposal, waste disposal, help in completing waste profile forms, battery disposal, surplus hazardous material disposal and answering general questions about compliance with hazardous materials.
Offices with excess or overstocked hazardous materials that are useable can arrange for their material to be removed by calling the HAZMART office.
Useable hazardous materials will be placed into a free-issue inventory and made available to all offices that have authorization or approval to have the materials at their location.

Toastmasters Club
Moody's Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 located in the Education Center. During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership. For more information, call 229-257-4734.

The Moody Spouses Club
The Moody Spouses Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service. Monthly meetings are held at the Moody Field Club. More information, including upcoming activities, can be obtained from www.themoodyspousesclub.com.

A-10 East Demo Team
The A-10 East Demo Team will be performing April 30 - May 1 in Vidalia Ga. at annual Vidalia Onion Festival.
