In an effort to address and resolve of the challenges Airmen experience, the first Caring for People forum at Moody will meet June 2. A second smaller forum for Reservists will take place June 5.

On June 2, a group of approximately 100 Airmen and spouses will be divided into working groups to discuss several focus areas, including deployment support, family support, single Airman support, special needs support, health and wellness, spouse communications and Reserve support.

"It's the first time we will get to sit down and hear from the Airmen," said Lawanna Barron, Family Advocacy outreach manager. "People make a difference in the Air Force and it's important to meet the needs of the Airmen."

Airmen and spouses are all encouraged to attend, May 19 will be the last day of registration. Registration forms were distributed to groups through email. The Moody Spouses Club has information available on their website at www.themoodyspousesclub.com , including the registration form and schedule.

"We are aware that many spouses may not be able to attend, so we have invited them to send me their ideas through email by May 19," said Ann Lukens, 23rd Force Support Squadron school liaison officer. "We want to make sure everyone has a chance to voice their issues."

Individuals who cannot make it to the forum may email Mrs. Lukens at Ann.Lukens@moody.af.mil with an idea to be discussed during the forum. Prior to emailing Mrs. Lukens, she recommends going to the Moody Spouse's Club website, looking at the information about the forum and filling out the registration form.

"The issues talked about during the forum will be taken seriously," said Ms. Barron. "We want people to know the importance of this and that their issues will be heard."

The issues discussed during the forum will be taken up to the base level. If they cannot be resolved here, they will be sent to Air Combat Command, and if they are unable to be resolved at ACC, they will be sent up to the Air Force level.

"We want to know what we can do to improve things for the Airmen and families at Moody," said Ms. Barron. "They are the experts in what they need."

The first Caring for People forum was initiated in 2009 by Air Force leadership to gather quality of life feedback for review, action and resolution.
