Gate hours, message from 23d Wing commander Published Sept. 14, 2012 23d Wing Public Affairs MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The new Commercial Gate is open.The hours will be: New Main Gate: 24/7 South Gate: Outbound only from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday North Gate: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Friday Quiet Pines: 24/7 Message from 23d Wing commander Col. Thompson-- While the weekend closure of the North Gate has caused a minor inconvenience for those who live in Quiet Pines and areas north of Moody, it is imperative that you keep in mind the total force protection standards Moody AFB now fully demonstrates. While convenience is always a factor to ensure our military personnel and families the highest quality of living, it is not a deciding factor in how wing leadership deem personnel and assets are protected on this installation. Though Team Moody put forth our best efforts to keep our communities informed, I understand not all individuals are always reached in the communication chain. I ask that you understand change is not always to make things easier, but in most cases, to keep our Airmen, families and assets safe; it's one of our top priorities, over the convenience of travel time. The new Davidson Road gate means significant improvements to the quality of work and life for so many on Moody Air Force Base.
