MSRON completes exercise with Djibouti Navy and Coast Guard

U.S. Sailors assigned to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron-1 (MSRON-1) participate in a knowledge exchange with women from the Djiboutian Coast Guard and Djiboutian Navy during Sea Sisters, part of Exercise Bull Shark 25-1, at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, on Nov. 4-6, 2024. Led by Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, Bull Shark 25-1 is a joint training exercise with U.S. and partner forces focused on enhancing personnel recovery capabilities and interoperability. Sea Sisters, facilitated by Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and MSRON-1, spanned three days and included sessions on maritime survival tactics, medical care, and relationship-building. WPS was established by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 in 2000, WPS emphasizes the critical role of women in peace and security efforts and calls for the protection of women and girls in conflict zones. To help us initiate and facilitate these discussions, we have included a guide that defines roles and ground rules.

The Flying Tiger Bridge Chat Facilitator provides facilitator trainings for base personnel. Their goal is to create squadron facilitators who take action on ACC's goal of equipping, engaging and empowering Airmen with resilience tools and create high-performing teams who look out for each other.
