  • Weather Airmen hone skills during Land Nav training

    Airmen from the 3d Weather Squadron (WS) participated in a Certification Field Exercise to evaluate the squadron’s overall tactical ability and readiness to provide the U.S. Army with full spectrum environmental support to the Joint Task Force (JTF) fight.     Maj. Gen. Chad Franks, Ninth Air Force commander, visited the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing, Aug. 9, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Franks, who on separate occasions served as the commander for the 23d Wing and 347th Rescue Group, is a command pilot with more than 3,300 hours in multiple aircraft including HC-130J Combat King II and HH-60G Pave Hawk.   • 1 ASOG hosts TACP Lightning Challenge

    The 1st Air Support Operations Group kicked off the 2019 Lightning Challenge at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, July 29.Twenty two-man teams of Tactical Air Control Party Airmen assigned to Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces, U.S. Air Forces Europe, and the Washington National Guard gathered to participate in the week-long competition.
