347th Rescue Group changes command

Col. Russell Cook, 347th Rescue Group commander, receives his first salute as commander from Chief Master Sgt. Lawrence Twitty, 347th Operations Support Squadron superintendent, during the 347th RQG change of command ceremony June 10, 2020, at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. In order to stay within Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health guidelines guidelines, Twitty rendered the salute on behalf of the entire group. The ceremony is a military tradition that represents a formal transfer of a unit’s authority and responsibility from one commander to another. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Hayden Legg)
