23d OSS climbs towers to maintain radio communication
Capt. Jose Rivera, 23d Operations Support Squadron Airfield Operations Flight commander, rappels from a radio tower Nov. 25, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Airmen assigned to the 23d OSS are required to meet climbing certification standards every year. These Airmen are responsible for air traffic and warning radar systems, fixed and deployable navigational aids, and weather equipment and radios to ensure aircraft can be safely guided through takeoff and landing.
