An Airman assigned to the 822d Base Defense Squadron estimates range during Scorpion Stakes, Feb. 20, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Airmen at this station had to estimate the range between 100 meters and 1000 meters. The competition includes 18 stations such as a ruck, litter carry, simulated hostage rescue, vehicle search. Scorpion Stakes all the day-to-day fundamental skills and job knowledge and challenges Airmen on their career training and knowledge while having to physically and mentally overcoming obstacles.
