Airmen from the 23d Logistic Readiness Squadron (LRS) and 476th Maintenance Squadron gear up to hot pit refuel an A-10C Thunderbolt II, Aug. 14, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Members of the 23d LRS preposition fueling trucks to allow aircraft to refuel without needing to shut down. This style of refueling is used to eliminate the need for additional maintenance procedures and to extend pilots’ training time per flight which improves operations tempo.
