Airmen ‘bring the heat’ with hot pits, gear up faster turnaround

A refuel hose rests on the flightline during a hot pit refueling, Aug. 14, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Members of the 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron preposition fueling trucks to allow aircraft to refuel without needing to shut down. This style of refueling is used to eliminate the need for additional maintenance procedures and to extend pilots’ training time per flight which improves operations tempo.
