JTAC’s coordinate on-going fire suppression
A fire burns on 8,500 acres of training ranges in Fort Hood, Texas. In a joint effort to contain the fire, Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) from the 9th Air Support Operations Squadron, U.S. Army Blackhawks, and Royal Netherland Chinooks coordinated and performed more than 75 bucket-drops per aircraft to douse the flames. JTACs used mapping software to create a real-time map of the fire while they deconflicted the airspace for the Chinooks and Blackhawks. (Courtesy photo)
