Armor piercing havoc

GAU-Avenger 30mm rounds cycle through a processing line during an inspection conducted by the 23d Equipment Maintenance Squadron’s munitions flight conventional section, Aug. 24, 2016, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. According to U.S. Air Force Capt. James Knauss, 74th Fighter Squadron A-10C Thunderbolt II pilot, the bullet’s ability to pierce through four inches of armor is advantageous for the A-10’s capability to fight adversaries in combat environments.
