U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Michael Haffner, 822d Base Defense Squadron fire team member (right), receives a Purple Heart Medal certificate from Maj. Christopher Hagemeyer, 822d BDS commander, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., March 27, 2014. During a security patrol while deployed to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Haffner’s truck hit an improvised explosive device.
