PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla.-- Pararescuemen from the 38th Rescue Squadron at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., familiarize themselves with the Advanced Crew Escape Suit at the helicopter squadron Nov. 13, in preparation for the launch of Space Shuttle Endeavor from nearby Kennedy Space Center. The spacesuit, also known as the "pumpkin suit," contains such items as a signal flare, survival radio, strobe light, drinking water, motion-sickness pills and a one-man life raft. Reserve, Guard and active-duty pararescuemen have provided medical contingency response for all manned and unmanned NASA launches since the space program began.
