Scan Eagle
CAMP BUCCA, Iraq -- Senior Airman Quantral Fletcher, 887th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron Scan Eagle maintainer, recovers a Scan Eagle unmanned aerial system after a test flight Feb. 25. The Scan Eagle does not land like a traditional aircraft. Intstead, a piece of equipment called a Sky Hook extends a bungee cord into the air which the UAS flies into. The cord slides across the edge of the wing until it's caught by a hook at the end of the wing. The UAS is then lowered to the ground and recovered. Airman Fletcher is originally from Memphis, Tenn.
