Proud to be an American

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Staff Sgt. Fernando Solis, 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 75th Aircraft Maintenance Unit avionics specialist, was a recent high school graduate working in Denver when he heard the tragic news on Sept. 11, 2001. “I was just out of high school and wasn’t hit hard by the situation, but I had many friends who had been military before and who wanted to rejoin. Four years later when I joined the Air Force, I became part of an organization that was part of the reaction to that historical event,” said Sergeant Solis.
