Command Post
Brian Childress, patrol commander of the Valdosta Ga. Police Department, describes the features of the VPD’s new mobile command post to Col. Kenneth Todorov, 23rd Wing commander and Mr. Parker Greene, chairman of the Moody Support Committee, during a visit Aug. 24. to Moody Air Force Base. The command post includes extensive radio, cellular and satellite communications equipment, a breathalyzer machine and a holding cell for up to three people. The vehicle was at Moody to familiarize base emergency management and disaster response Airmen on its capabilities in the case of a joint emergency or mass-casualty disaster response.
