Installing wells
MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Contractors use a geoprobe rig to install injection wells into contaminated soil here. Substances such as lactate or vegetable oil are inserted into the soil, where they act as a stimulating food source for naturally-occurring microbes. These microbes will then work to break down the contaminants in the soil. (Contributed photo)
