Steep mountains, rough going

TACLOBAN, Philippines -- The steep mountains are typical of Philippine scenery and made the mission of the six-man crew searching for remains from World War II “missing in action” servicemembers much more difficult. Senior Master Sgt. Thomas Niznik, 23rd Maintenance Operations Squadron superintendent, said the trip was extremely challenging physically, but given the importance of the mission, he would do it again in a heartbeat.
