TACLOBAN, Philippines -- Senior Master Sgt. Thomas Niznik, 23rd Maintenance Operations Squadron superintendent, enjoys a fresh coconut here in early April during a 10-day trek on his way to the site where a C-47 Skytrain went down during World War II, leaving its six crew members as “missing in action.” The team was lead by local guides who were ultimately partially responsible for the team’s success in finding the site. Refreshing coconut

TACLOBAN, Philippines -- Senior Master Sgt. Individuals worldwide are encouraged to promote online safety as a part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Cyber security is defending the confidentiality, integrity, availability and accountability of the information on networks. No one is immune to cyberattacks and as service members; it’s our duty to practice proper cyber safety measures both on and off-duty. Ways to accomplish this are by keeping updated security software, protecting personal information, creating strong passwords and deleting suspicious emails, social network posts and text messages received. As stated by U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. William J. Bender, chief of information dominance and chief information officer, we must continue to adopt and promote a culture of cyber security. Bender added that using this month is an opportune time to practice proper cyber security measures now and beyond to continue efforts in defending the nation in every domain.
