Proud to be an American
Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Jerry Childs no longer wears a uniform, but his passion for America and the Armed Forces is still evident. After retiring from Moody Air Force base, Ga., Childs remained working for the Air Force as a civilian. Each morning he raises the flag during reveille, then lowers it each afternoon to be fold and put in its case. He took on a patriotic pastime earlier this year with the Patriot Guard Riders, a diverse group of bikers from across the nation who have an unwavering respect for those who risk their lives for America’s freedom and security. He plans on staying with the PGRs and participating in the group’s services. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Eileen Meier/Released)
