Never forgotten
A traditional display of boots, dog tags, M-16 assault rifle and kevlar is set up as a memorial during National Roll Call in honor of Veterans Day in front of West Hall at Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Ga., Nov.11, 2011. VSU staff, faculty, students and members of the community volunteered to read from the list of 6,274 casualties who lost their lives in service to America in operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Colleges and universities all over the United States, including D.C., participated in the event and paused at 11 a.m. for a moment of silence.
