Kristen McSpadden, spouse of U.S. Air Force Capt. Cecil McSpadden, 822nd Base Defense Squadron officer in charge of intelligence, and 2nd Lt. Cara Bousie, 23rd Wing deputy chief of Public Affairs, exchange stories of how their husbands proposed to them Nov. 12, 2011, in Valdosta, Ga. Although McSpadden is a civilian and Bousie is an Air Force officer, both went through the same feelings and emotional rollercoaster while separated from their husbands.
