High year tenure
On Dec. 19, 2011, Air Force officials announced high year tenure limit continue to be adjusted into 2013. The HYT limits will affect approximately 1,700 Airmen, with the ranks of senior airman, reduced from 10 years to eight; staff sergeant from 20 to 15 years; and technical sergeant 22 to 20 years.
