Moody’s Area Defense Counsel provides their counseling and litigation expertise to all active-duty service members in the event that an adverse action is taken against them. The ADC assists Airmen throughout the litigation process to ensure each client receives the best possible outcome regardless of the situation. Moody’s ADC guarantees attorney-client privileges of confidentiality with the only exception being clients' intent to commit future crimes. Moody Air Force Base, Ga. is scheduled to host Retiree Appreciation Week Oct. 4 to 10 to honor retired service members and show them that they are not forgotten. The week’s events will consist of a base tour, health and information fair, static displays, bingo and end with a golf tournament on Oct. 9, which is Retiree Appreciation Day. According to the Moody Air Force Base Instruction 31-204, “privately owned vehicles will not be left unattended with the ignition key in the vehicle or with the engine running.” Idling occurs when an engine is running while a vehicle is not in motion. When not actively driving, people idle their cars to either warm up the engine before driving or to deter possible wear and tear on the engine in situations that require frequent restarting. Engines warm twice as quickly when the vehicle is driven. According to the Hinkle Charitable Foundation, cutting down the action of idling can improve an individual’s car performance, save them money and reduce emitted hazardous fumes. According to the Air Force Safety Center, there were 16,600 injuries involving grills in 2011. Approximately half were burn injuries and more than one-quarter involved children under five years of age. Additionally, almost one-third of these injuries occurred when lighting the grill. The Air Force now publishes sexual assault convictions online, and anyone can review more than 100 sexual assault convictions from across the Air Force, to include viewing them by base. In a message to Airmen, U.S. Air Force Col. Chad Franks, 23d Wing commander, encouraged Airmen to look at the cases, and create a culture of respect by being a good wingman and intervening when necessary.
