Everything from tents, sleeping bags, tables, chairs, lawn equipment, rental cars and moving trucks can be rented from 23d Force Support Squadron Equipment Rental office.

The Equipment Rental office, located in The Shop, rents quality equipment and supplies to Airmen and their families for affordable prices.

"A lot of times, people rent because either they can't or don't want to store it, or they want to try something out to see how they like it," said Connie McIe, 23d FSS lead rental consultant. "Or sometimes we have something that you don't need a lot.

"If you live in a smaller house ... it's a lot easier to come rent lawn equipment," she added. "We have it here, so you don't have to store it. Or if you have company over and you need tables and chairs, we have them here."

Equipment Rental also has everything Airmen need for a leisurely outdoors trip, including camping, fishing and boating supplies.

One frequent customer at the Equipment Rental office is U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Anthony Robinson, 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron superintendent of quality assurance and compliance operations.

"It seems like I'm over there weekly," he said. "We're always over there. I've rented vehicles, grills for squadron cookouts, bounce houses and sports equipment. It seems like I've used almost everything they have to offer.

"The people are friendly over there," he added. "They're very knowledgeable and helpful. I've even had to go there last minute, but I've never left without being completely satisfied."

McIe said a lot of Equipment Rental's customers are new arrivals and Airmen about to have a permanent change of station (PCS). One of the most utilized rentals she said are cars and moving trucks.

She said a lot of Airmen use the trucks to move their belongings into storage before a deployment, and for moves within the local area, especially do-it-yourself (DITY) moves.

"We are certified weighers here," said McIe. "So if anyone is doing a DITY move, you can come to us, pay the $8 fee, and we will take you to the scales."

McIe said Equipment Rental can also be a valuable resource for Airmen who are living in a house for the first time or starting a family.

"Especially young Airmen too, as far a starting a family, they might not have everything established already," said McIe. "Or perhaps you're PCSing and your stuff hasn't gotten here yet. We have a way to at least get you started."
