Healthy recipes: Banana-pecan dip for fruit Published Sept. 7, 2010 By Kayla Scherf Health and Wellness Center dietician MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Editor's note: The Health and Wellness center dietician will provide a series of seasonal recipes for each month. September's recipes are based on pecans. Ingredients: 1 medium ripe banana 1/2 cup fat-free cream cheese 3 tablespoons pecan pieces 1 tablespoon orange juice 2 teaspoons brown sugar 3 medium apples, cored and sliced 3 medium pears, cored and sliced How to make it: 1. Mash banana in medium bowl. Add cream cheese and beat with wire whisk until well blended. Add pecans, orange juice and brown sugar; mix well. 2. Serve with fruit. Preparation time: 15 minutes Total time: 15 minutes Makes: 6 servings; 2 tablespoons of dip with 1/2 the apple and 1/2 the pear
