Military Justice Spotlight: Article 15s for September Published Oct. 15, 2010 By 23rd Wing Legal Office MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA. -- The following information is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in September. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case. An airman first class from the 23rd Security Forces Squadron was found running around the dorms drunk and wearing only a towel. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the Airman punched a hole in his dorm room. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand. Two airmen first class from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron were discovered performing maintenance on an aircraft without using technical orders. Both received a suspended reduction to airman and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 822nd Security Forces Squadron was drinking alcohol under the legal age of 21. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, suspended forfeiture of $125 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. A staff sergeant from the 23rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron stole two video games from the Exchange. The staff sergeant received a reduction to senior airman, 21 days extra duty and a reprimand. An airman form the 824th Security Forces Squadron misused his government travel card. The airman received a reduction to airman basic and a reprimand. An airman from the 823th Security Forces Squadron wrongfully used a schedule II controlled substance, Oxycodone, which was not prescribed to the airman. The airman received a reduction to airman basic, restriction to Moody for 30 days with an exception to go to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and a reprimand. An airman from the 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron was drinking alcohol under the legal age of 21. The airman received a suspended reduction to airman basic and a reprimand. A senior airman from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was found in possession of marijuana. The senior airman received a reduction to airman basic, suspended forfeitures of $723 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. A senior airman from the 822nd Security Forces Squadron was misusing his government travel card and bouncing checks attempting to make payments on the government travel card. The senior airman received a reduction in rank to airman first class, a suspended reduction to airman and a reprimand. An airman basic from the 23rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron wrongfully used marijuana. The airman basic received forfeiture of $723 pay per month for two months, restriction to Moody for 45 days, 45 days extra duty and a reprimand. A technical sergeant from the 23rd Medical Operations Squadron wrongfully possessed pornography in a deployed location, committed adultery on multiple occasions and brought discredit upon the service through his misconduct. The technical sergeant received a reduction to staff sergeant, forfeiture of $1,462 pay per month for one month, suspend forfeiture of $1,462 pay per month for one month, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 822nd Security Forces Squadron wrongfully touched another airman inappropriately. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman and a reprimand.
