Fall 2011 CCAF graduates Published Oct. 28, 2011 By 23rd Force Support Squadron Education Office MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The Moody Air Force Base Fall 2011 Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) graduation ceremony is scheduled for at 3 p.m., Nov. 3, at the Moody Field Club. The CCAF is the only two-year institution serving enlisted personnel which awards an associate's in applied science degree. The traditional graduation ceremony honors the dedication and determination of the individuals completing this academic achievement. The CCAF concept evolved in the early 1970s as a means of gaining recognition for Air Force training. Visionaries recognized the need to enhance the skills of noncommissioned officers as technicians, leaders and citizens and increase their development as managers of Air Force resources. The CCAF was established April 1, 1972, at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, and is accredited through Air University by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The graduates have balanced family obligations and military duties to complete the academic requirements that led to the conferral of this degree. Families, friends, commanders, supervisors and coworkers are encouraged to recognize and celebrate this educational milestone and honor the achievements of the graduates at the graduation ceremony.
