MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Beginning today at noon, Moody Air Force Base will relocate its aircraft in preparation for Tropical Storm Hermine’s high winds.
Currently, the base is not evacuating any personnel. Base leadership has authorized early release of all non-mission essential personnel at 3 p.m. today.
Minimum manning and operations will remain in effect from 3 p.m., Thursday, 1 Sept. to 8 a.m., Saturday, 3 Sept. Non-mission essential military personnel are authorized the pre-planned Air Combat Command family day, but will remain on telephone stand-by. All appropriated-fund civilians are authorized pre-scheduled/approved leave or administrative leave. During this timeframe, only the mission essential services and activities listed at the bottom will be manned and functional on Moody AFB. Standard operations are expected to resume at 0800, Saturday, 3 Sept.
