MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- An HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, assigned to the 66th Rescue Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., was involved in a mishap during routine training, injuring four personnel the evening of August 18.
The injured are the following members of the 66th RQS:
Capt. Ryan Martelly, pilot, suffered minor injuries and was released.
Capt. Brack Duvall, copilot, suffered minor injuries and was released.
Senior Airman Talon Leinbaugh, special missions aviator, suffered minor injuries and was released.
Staff Sgt. Adam Koniar, special missions aviator, is being treated for his injuries at Mike O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center on Nellis AFB and is in stable condition according to the 99th Medical Group staff.
"I am relieved that there were no life threatening injuries,” said Col. Thomas Kunkel, 23d Wing commander. “We are moving forward with a safety investigation to determine the cause of the mishap.”
The safety investigation is ongoing and more information on the incident will be released as it becomes available.
