Several Airmen from the 23d Combat Air Base Squadron volunteered to complete a challenging assessment designed to screen and prepare candidates for the demands of the Army’s Air Assault Course. The event tested endurance and grit through a timed run, rope climb and 12-mile ruck march aligned with the course’s pre-requirements.

By setting the standard early, the 23d CABS is giving Airmen a higher chance of success before ever arriving at the schoolhouse. The assessment reinforces disciplined preparation, realistic expectations and the mindset required to maintain pace and perform under pressure.
