The Moody Air Force Base Education Center continues to strengthen the team by empowering Airmen to achieve their academic and professional goals.

From degree programs to testing services, the center serves as a vital resource for lifelong learning and career advancement.

“Education is one of the most powerful readiness tools we have,” said Maj. Krystal Muddamalle, 23d Force Support Squadron commander. “By developing Airmen who think critically and adapt quickly, we’re building information warriors ready to excel in any environment — whether in the classroom or the battlespace.”

The Education Center offers a variety of programs and services including Weighted Airmen Promotion System (WAPS) testing, Air Force Officer Qualifying Tests (AFOQT) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) testing. In addition, the center houses four on-base colleges — Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Park University, Georgia Military College (GMC), and Wiregrass Technical College — each offering degree opportunities tailored to the needs of Airmen and their families.

For many service members, the Education Center provides more than academic guidance — it offers personal support and mentorship that make higher education feel achievable.

“The Education Office turned what could’ve been a complicated process into a simple one,” said Senior Airman Elijah Dagner, a GMC student. “Their guidance and accessibility made higher education feel within reach for Airmen like me.”

For many at Moody, these experiences reflect the broader impact of having dedicated support just steps away from the workplace.

“As a military member with a busy schedule, having a dedicated education space made a real difference in my journey,” added Staff Sgt. Zyron Sykes, who attended GMC and earned both his Community College of the Air Force and Associate of Science in Business Administration degrees through on-base programs. “Being able to sit down with school representatives face-to-face helped me make more confident decisions and stay on track toward success.”

The team at the Education Center hosts a variety of professionals like Edwin Rains, head of the Veterans Education and Benefits Department, who works daily to ensure every Airman receives individualized attention and guidance.

“As a professor and an advisor, I’ve been able to walk on both sides,” said Rains. “I enjoy the conversations with students as they plan and seek advice on the steps needed to reach their goals. Many still reach out to share how far they’ve come — and it's rewarding to know we played a small role in their success. We call this building a ‘one-stop shop,’ where students can go from start to finish with schools offering many different paths toward their goals.”

Through personalized advising, testing opportunities, and partnerships with on-base colleges, the Moody Education Center continues to strengthen the team — ensuring Airmen are equipped with the education and confidence to succeed both in and out of uniform.
