MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The 23rd Wing relocated the aircraft before Hurricane Helene impacted the base, which brought strong winds and heavy rain, causing downed trees and flooding in some low-lying areas. The evacuation prevented damages to the base’s aircraft, ensuring the 23rd Wing’s mission continuation post-recovery. The hurricane impacted Florida's Big-Bend region and stretched up through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
