Press Release: 23rd Wing mourns loss of Airman

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Marcus Jordan, a 28-year-old airman assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron out of Moody Air Force Base, was pronounced dead during his deployment to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, April 17, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Chamorro Standard Time.

Senior Airman Jordan was discovered unresponsive on Andersen AFB and was pronounced dead following medical support.

"Senior Airman Jordan exemplified the very best of what it means to live by our values: courage, dedication, and selflessness. His commitment to service served as an inspiration to us all,” said Col. Paul Sheets, 23rd Wing commander. "Any loss of a teammate leaves a void in our hearts and in our unit that will be deeply felt. Our thoughts and prayers are with Senior Airman Jordan's family, friends and the members of the 38th RQS."

The cause of death is currently under investigation.
