Capt. Phil Blevins became Moody Air Force Base’s Area Defense Counsel on July 1, 2021.

For the past four years, he was a military prosecutor – having completed tours at Whiteman Air Force Base, Bagram Airfield, and here at the 23d Wing legal office. Blevins graduated with honors from the Appalachian School of Law and earned an advanced law degree at the University of Missouri’s School of Law.

As the new ADC, Blevins and his teammate are motivated to get after the mission.

Moody’s ADC office is a tenant unit with only two members assigned to it: Blevins and Tech. Sgt. Lauren Debolt. Debolt oversees the day-to-day operations of the office, while Blevins primarily represents clients.

“Representing America’s heroes is a surreal opportunity; it’s an honor that I do not take lightly,” Blevins said. “We see Airmen and Guardians on the worst days of their lives. Our job is to zealously defend their constitutional rights and put them at ease so they can get back to focusing on the mission.”

The ADC offers free professional legal representation to all Airmen and Guardians facing administrative actions, such as letters of reprimand, Article 15s, referral enlisted performance reports, reenlistment denials, involuntary discharges and courts-martial.

The hallmark of the ADC is their cloak of confidentiality.

“Anything clients tell me during the scope of my representation is protected to the highest degree,” Blevins said. “The attorney-client relationship is sacred. Clients can be assured that everything we discuss is kept confidential.”

Moody’s ADC office is located across the street from the Express in Bldg. 718. Their doors are open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Clients can walk in anytime during those hours or call 229-257-3421 to make an appointment. For after-hour representation, the ADC can be reached through the command post at 229-257-3501.
