CSAF 21 Final Message to the Force

It seems like only yesterday I was standing in the Field House at the Air Force Academy swearing our solemn oath for the first time, to support and defend our constitution.  And now, four decades later, my service in uniform will come to a close.

The Airmen of today’s Air Force are the most incredible, patriotic, and disciplined professionals I have ever had the pleasure to serve alongside.  The vast majority joined the Air Force during a period in which our Nation has been at war.  Your innovative spirit and willingness to endure hardship in service to our country is inspiring.

Dawn and I are forever grateful of the sacrifices you and your families continue to endure to defend this great experiment called democracy.  You give our Nation strength and hope because of your courage and selflessness to carry forth the commitment our founding fathers made to secure the blessings of freedom we all enjoy.

It has been my utmost honor serving with you these past 37 years, and as Chief these past four.  May God bless this Nation we love, and the long blue line, who always have and always will defend her.
