The 23rd Logistics Readiness Squadron Travel Management Office has recently taken over some of the responsibilities of a Defense Reutilization Marketing Office here in order to provide customers with the proper avenues to dispose of reusable, non-hazardous material.

Currently, Moody Airmen use Robins Air Force Base, Ga., DRMO. Units and Airmen interested in returning serviceable and non-serviceable materials may contact the 23rd LRS, Robins AFB DRMO or refer to the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service website at www.drms.dla.mil.

Due to the consolidation of smaller bases' DRMO's to a central location, the 23rd LRS's TMO will now accept limited materials that would normally go to a base DRMO.

"We (23rd LRS) may be able to provide transportation for items being sent to Robins DRMO depending on size," said Master Sgt. Ilan Cribb, 23rd LRS chief of cargo movement. "For us to provide transportation, Airmen would have to contact the Traffic Management Office in order to setup a vehicle and driver for DRMO materials."

According to Terry McCard, 23rd LRS packaging and crating supervisor, Airmen can contact vehicle operations and setup their own appointment with Robins AFB DRMO.

"We do send about a semi-truck worth of DRMO goods a week," said Mr. McCard. "However, our space is limited, and there are alternative methods to unload materials."

Mr. McCard also pointed out that due to the upcoming Unit Compliance Inspection, all DRMO requests sent through the Traffic Management Flight will be halted from August 14-25.

"This doesn't mean that Airmen will not be able to ship out DRMO requests during that week, but they will have to go about the process by contacting Robins AFB DRMO and obtaining their own mode of transportation through the 23rd LRS Vehicle Operations Flight or unit-funded vehicles," added Mr. McCard.
