After final negotiations Nov. 4 with the Air Force family housing redevelopment plan, Moody's Magnolia Grove privatized housing project will resume construction in the upcoming months.

"We are grateful to everyone who has endured this unfortunate situation with us during the past 20 months" said Col. Kenneth E. Todorov, 23rd Wing commander. "More importantly, we appreciate everyone who has worked tirelessly to help get our housing project back on track."

This announcement is a great first step in providing our Airmen and their families what they deserve--the best military housing we can provide; it's essential as they continue to fight the Global War on Terrorism. Although we still have a long way to go, we're happy to move forward, and we thank our Airmen and our local community for their patience, Colonel Todorov added.

HP Communities, LLC has assumed operation and management of the project from American Eagle Communities. They will provide development, remodeling, operations, maintenance and property management of the privatized housing units, community facilities and infrastructure at Magnolia Grove.

Magnolia Grove is now part of The Landings at Moody, which is the name of the overall privatized housing units.

"HP expects work to begin on the 50 units in Magnolia Grove in the very near future," said John Eunice III, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron deputy base civil engineer. "The projected start date will be determined after they visit the construction site."

There will be no new construction because all of these homes are in some sort of phase and several of them are near completion, added Mr. Eunice.

For homes near completion, most of the work will be on the infrastructure.

"There are still water and sewer lines in addition to road work that need to be completed before any homes can be occupied," said Mr. Eunice.

The completion date for Magnolia Grove will be provided as soon as HP Communities, LLC announces it.

"The transition to HP Communities, LLC will be transparent to current residents" said Lt. Col. Greg A. Williams, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron commander. "The preparation and planning between Hunt Pinnacle's local management team and our housing management staff ensured a smooth transition. We are ready to see progress for our Airmen and for our surrounding community."
